Test No. 15: Outside Temperature Display Abnormal

  1. Check A/C ECU operation. See appropriate A/C-HEATER SYSTEM article in AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT section. Replace as needed. If A/C ECU is okay, check CIG (15-amp) fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is faulty, replace fuse and recheck. If fuse blows, disconnect connector "A" and replace fuse again. If fuse blows again, repair short in wiring harness. If fuse is okay, replace circuit plate and retest.
  2. Check twin trip and odometer switch operation while driving. If switch does not work, go to TEST NO. 13, step 2). If switch is okay, disconnect connector "A". Check continuity between harness connector "A" terminal No. 19 and switch harness connector terminal No. 5 (Green wire). See Figure. If continuity does not exist, repair Green wire. If continuity exists, check continuity between harness connector "A" terminal No. 21 and 12-pin A/C control assembly harness connector "A" terminal No. 1 (Green/White wire). If continuity does not exist, repair open Green/White wire. If continuity exists, replace circuit plate and retest.
