Engine Coolant Temperature Sending Unit

Using scan tool, read engine temperature. Check actual engine coolant temperature. Compare actual temperature to scan tool reading. Replace sending unit if temperatures vary. An open circuit will indicate -40°F (-40°C), a short circuit will indicate 284°F (140°C).
