Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Disconnect accelerator cable and A/T throttle cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. Remove "V" bank cover. See Figure. Disconnect power steering hose from No. 1 engine hanger.
  2. Remove PCV hose and valve from right cylinder head. Disconnect ground cable from air intake chamber. Remove brake booster vacuum hose from air intake chamber. Disconnect water by-pass hoses from throttle body.
  3. Remove air assist hose from throttle body. Disconnect EVAP hose from pipe on emission control valve set. Note location for installation reference and disconnect wiring harness connectors as necessary.
  4. Remove Data Link Connector No. 1 (DLC1) from bracket on Intake Air Control (IAC) valve. Remove No. 1 engine hanger. Remove air intake chamber stay. Remove No. 2 EGR pipe and gaskets. Label and disconnect vacuum hoses as necessary. Remove air intake chamber assembly and gasket.
  5. Disconnect fuel return hose from fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect fuel inlet hose from fuel filter. Remove 2 banjo bolts, 4 gaskets and fuel pipe. Remove fuel rails and injectors as an assembly. Pull injectors from fuel rail using a slight twisting motion.
