Description & Operation
Power mirrors are controlled by a dual control switch assembly, located on left side of instrument panel or in driver's door armrest. The left/right switch directs current to desired mirror. The horizontal/vertical switch directs current to one of 2 motors, located in mirror/motor assembly. Mirror and motors must be removed and serviced as an assembly.
All models have electric mirror defogger integral with mirror assembly. LS400, SC300 and SC400 models are available with optional mirror position memory function. Memory function is controlled by driving position switch, mounted on driver door trim panel.
LS400, SC300 and SC400 models are also equipped with a liquid crystal inside rearview mirror. Mirror surface changes from bright to dark to reduce glare by activating switch on mirror frame. Key unlock warning switch, located on ignition switch, provides ground so mirror will only change when ignition key is inserted.
