Stoplight Switch Check

  1. Disconnect stoplight switch. Check continuity between switch terminals. On ES300, SC300 & SC400, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 2 with brake pedal depressed, and continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 4 with brake pedal released.
  2. On LS400, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 3 with brake pedal depressed, and continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 4 with brake pedal released. See Figure or Figure . If continuity is correct, go to WIRING HARNESS CHECK. If continuity is incorrect, replace switch.
