Actuator Check
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 2 harness connectors from actuator. On SC300, connect Test Harness (09990-00210, 09990-00250 and 09990-00280) to actuator connectors. On SC400, connect Test Harness (09990-00250) to actuator connectors. On all models, connect Actuator Checker (09990-00150) to test harness connectors.
- Connect actuator checker positive and negative cables to vehicle battery. Connect test harness Black cable to negative battery terminal or a good ground. Start engine and operate at idle.NOTE: DO NOT press MAIN switch for more than 10 seconds.
- Turn actuator checker selector switch to FRONT RH position. See Fig 1. Press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Depress and hold brake pedal. Press MAIN switch. When MAIN switch is pressed, brake pedal should not go down. Release MAIN switch. Brake pedal should lower. Press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Brake pedal should return. Release brake pedal.
- Press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Depress brake pedal and hold for 15 seconds. While holding brake pedal down, press SUB-MOTOR switch again for a few seconds. Brake pedal should not pulsate.
- Repeat steps 2) - 4) for FRONT LH and REAR positions of selector switch. After checking remaining wheels, press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Remove actuator checker and test harness.
- If any actuator solenoid does not test as indicated, check actuator solenoid resistance. Measure resistance between 6-pin connector No. 4 and appropriate actuator solenoid connector. Resistance of each solenoid should be 1.2 ohms.
- Replace ABS actuator if actuator solenoid resistance is not as specified. Reconnect vehicle harnesses to actuator and control relay. Clear diagnostic codes. See CLEARING CODES .
