BLEEDING OF TRAC CONTROL SYSTEM (FOR TRAC)
- BLEED TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
CAUTION:
When repairing the brake master cylinder or TRAC system,
- Connect a vinyl tube to the bleeder plug of the accumulator, then loosen the bleeder plug. See Fig 1
- Start the engine, then operate the accumulator until all the air has been bled out of the fluid.
- Tighten the bleeder plug and stop the engine.
TORQUE:
110 kg-cm ( 8 ft-lb, 11 N-m)
CAUTION:
Brake fluid is very damaging to painted surfaces. Protect all appropriate painted surfaces from possible brake fluid damage.
- Remove the air cleaner, then temporarily reinstall it so the engine can be started.
- Connect a vinyl tube to the bleeder plug of the TRAC actuator, then loosen the bleeder plug.
- Temporarily reinstall the air cleaner making sure all hoses and wires are connected prior to engine start up. If a hose or wire is left disconnected, an engine code will be set.
- Start the engine, then operate the TRAC pump motor until all the air has been bled out of the fluid.
- Tighten the bleeder plug and stop the engine.
TORQUE:
110 kg-cm ( 8 ft-lb, 11 N-m )
- Check to see if any diagnostic code has been set which indicates trouble. If there is a code, analyze and correct the problem, and clear the memory.
2. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR TANK
Check the fluid level and add fluid if necessary.
FLUID:
SAE J1703 or FMVSS NO. 116 DOT 3
HINT:
Add fluid with engine idling.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE CLEARANCE (IF REQUIRED)
- Using SST (09843-18020), connect terminals Tc and E1 of TDCL or check connector.
- Clear the diagnostic codes stored in ECU by depressing the brake pedal 8 or more times within 3 seconds.
- Check that the TRAC indicator light shows the normal code.
- Remove the SST from the terminals of TDCL or check connector.
