CAUTION:

New transfer cases may be supplied with untapped bolt holes, reuse the original bolts when self tapping the new threads.
Re-manufactured transfer cases have tapped holes, bolts must be installed finger tight before applying Torque.

NOTE:

Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
Component shown removed for clarity.

CAUTION: Oil seals must be installed dry.
NOTE:
- This step is only required if previously removed.
- Make sure that this component is installed to the noted removal position.

Install a new O-ring seal.

- Clean the component mating faces.
- Lubricate input shaft splines with 'Weicon TL7391' grease.
- General Equipment: Powertrain Jack
  General Equipment: Vehicle/axle stands

- Install the transfer case.
  Torque : 45Nm
CAUTION: Air tools must not be used.

Install the transfer case damper.

Torque : 75Nm

Install the breather pipe.

Install the wiring harness.

Renew Part: Front driveshaft to transfer case bolt(s) Quantity: 6 .

Torque

Stage 1: 45Nm

Stage 2: 90°

Connect the battery ground cable.

1. Connect the Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.
2. Start the diagnostic service function transfer case-transfer case replacement.
3. Clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) after calibration and check for correct operation.
