CAUTION:
- New transfer cases may be supplied with untapped bolt holes, reuse the original bolts when self tapping the new threads.
- Re-manufactured transfer cases have tapped holes, bolts must be installed finger tight before applying Torque.
NOTE:
- Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
- Component shown removed for clarity.

CAUTION: Oil seals must be installed dry.NOTE:
- This step is only required if previously removed.
- Make sure that this component is installed to the noted removal position.
Special Tool(s): 308-598

NOTE: This step is only required if previously removed.
Install a new O-ring seal.
- Clean the component mating faces.
- Lubricate input shaft splines with 'Weicon TL7391' grease.
- General Equipment: Powertrain Jack
General Equipment: Vehicle/axle stands
General Equipment: Wooden Block
- Special Tool(s): 303-1069
- Install the transfer case.
Torque : 45Nm

CAUTION: Air tools must not be used.
Install the transfer case damper.
Torque : 75Nm
Install the breather pipe.
Install the wiring harness.

CAUTION: Air tools must not be used.
Torque : 25Nm

CAUTION: Air tools must not be used.
Install the ground cable.
Torque : 25Nm

CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.
Install the driveshaft.
Renew Part: Front driveshaft to transfer case bolt(s) Quantity: 6 .
Torque
Stage 1: 45Nm
Stage 2: 90°
Torque : 40Nm

CAUTION: Air tools must not be used.
Torque : 60Nm
- Refer to: TRANSMISSION SUPPORT CROSSMEMBER - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL .

NOTE: Do not perform this step if the component removed for access only.
Refer to: TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING .
- Connect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .

NOTE: Do not perform this step if the component removed for access only.
- Connect the Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.
- Start the diagnostic service function transfer case-transfer case replacement.
- Clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) after calibration and check for correct operation.
