Pinpoint Test E: Steering Wheel Module Local Interconnect Network Wiring Harness Checks
- E1: STEERING WHEEL MODULE LOCAL INTERCONNECT NETWORK VOLTAGE CHECK
- Measure the voltage between the clockspring electrical connector (steering column side, BCM LIN
circuit), harness side and ground.
Is the voltage greater than 0 volts and less than battery voltage?
Yes: GO to Pinpoint Test H.
No: GO to E2.
- Measure the voltage between the clockspring electrical connector (steering column side, BCM LIN
circuit), harness side and ground.
- E2: STEERING WHEEL MODULE LOCAL INTERCONNECT NETWORK CHECK FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND, SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER, OPEN CIRCUIT OR HIGH RESISTANCE
- Disconnect Clockspring electrical connector (steering column side).
- Measure the voltage between the clockspring connector (steering column side, BCM LIN
circuit), harness side and ground.
Is the voltage greater than 0 volts and less than battery voltage?
Yes: GO to Pinpoint Test G.
No: Refer to the appropriate service information and check the BCM LIN (LIN 1) circuit (BCM to clockspring) for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. REPAIR the circuit as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
