Pinpoint Test B: Check The Power And Ground Circuit(S)
- B1: CHECK THE C1CS05A POWER CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect PSCM electrical connector C1CS05A.
- Measure the voltage between the PSCM
electrical connector C1CS05A pin 1 (RD), harness side and ground.
Is the voltage above 12 volts?
Yes: GO to B3.
No: Check fuse link 3A (150 Amps). If the fuse is damaged, install a new fuse. If the fuse is OK, GO to B2.
- B2: CHECK FOR CONTINUITY BETWEEN C1CS05A AND AUXILIARY JUNCTION BOX ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR C1BF01C
- Disconnect Auxiliary junction box electrical connector C1BF01C.NOTE: Make sure to zero out the resistance of multimeter test leads before carrying out any other resistance checks.
- Measure the resistance between the PSCM
electrical connector C1CS05A pin 1 (RD), harness side and the auxiliary junction box electrical connector C1BF01C pin 1 (RD), harness side.
Is the resistance less than 1 ohm?
Yes:
GO to B3.
No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Disconnect Auxiliary junction box electrical connector C1BF01C.
- B3: CHECK THE C1CS05A GROUND CIRCUIT NOTE: Make sure to zero out the resistance of multimeter test leads before carrying out any other resistance checks.
- Measure the resistance between the PSCM
electrical connector C1CS05A pin 2 (BK), harness side and body ground.
Is the resistance less than 1 ohm?
Yes: GO to B4.
No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Measure the resistance between the PSCM
electrical connector C1CS05A pin 2 (BK), harness side and body ground.
- B4: CHECK THE C1CS05B IGNITION CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Connect PSCM electrical connector C1CS05A.
- Disconnect PSCM electrical connector C1CS05B.
- Turn the ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between the PSCM
electrical connector C1CS05B pin 6 (VT-WH), harness side and ground.
Is the voltage above 12 volts?
Yes: If directed to this pinpoint test from the DTC Index - PSCM , then continue with the Action list Step(s).
No: GO to B5.
- B5: CHECK FOR CONTINUITY BETWEEN C1CS05B AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR C2BP01H
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Disconnect BCM electrical connector C2BP01H.NOTE: Make sure to zero out the resistance of multimeter test leads before carrying out any other resistance checks.
- Measure the resistance between the PSCM
electrical connector C1CS05B pin 6 (VT-WH), harness side and the BCM
electrical connector C2BP01H pin 32 (WH-VT), harness side.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes: If directed to this pinpoint test from the DTC Index - PSCM , then continue with the Action list Step(s). If directed to this pinpoint test from the Symptom Chart in this procedure. Refer to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for further diagnosis.
No: Check the BCM . REFER to: DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX - DTC: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
