DTC P084F-29: Park/Neutral Switch Output Circuit - Signal invalid: Action
- Prioritised steps to perform:
- Check battery charge and condition. Record the observed values
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, read all Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and investigate any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) relating to battery voltage supply
- Check the security and integrity of the transmission earth point and check resistance from transmission ground to vehicle ground. Rectify as required
- Check the transmission VBATT and IGN circuits to confirm an appropriate voltage supply to transmission connector
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the P-SIGNAL circuit at the transmission connector for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power and rectify as required
- Check the transmission connector(s) for damage and/or water ingress and rectify as required
- Check the transmission control switch connector for damage and/or water ingress and rectify as required
- Compare the voltage output of the P-SIGNAL circuit with the engine running and the transmission set in and out of Park
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest. If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
