Transmission Control Module And Main Control Valve Body (G2171814): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CAUTION: Care must be taken when refitting the valve body assembly.
    NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the noted removal position.

    Install the valve body and secure the linkage.

  2. NOTE: Steps 1 and 2 are to be completed together.

    Make sure that pressure pipe (1), pressure pipe (2) and Rubber seal pipe (3) are installed correctly before installing the valve body assembly.

    Install and tighten the 14 bolts evenly and progressively in the sequence shown.

    Torque  : 8Nm

    • Use the special tool to install the electrical connector.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-308-844

    Secure the electrical connector to the transmission casing.

    Make sure that the electrical connector is installed in the correct orientation as noted in the removal step.

    Secure the electrical connector clip.

  8. CAUTION: Make sure that the electrical connector is correctly installed.

    Connect the electrical connector.

    Install and tighten the bolt.

    Torque  : 4Nm 

  10. CAUTION: Make sure all suitable safety precautions are taken to protect the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and main control valve body electrical connector pins against electrostatic discharge.

    Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

    Torque  : 8Nm 

  11. NOTE: Tighten the screws evenly and progressively.

    • Install the integral electric pump.
    • Install and tighten the 3 screws.

      Torque  : 8Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector.
  12. Install the transmission fluid pan.

    Refer to: TRANSMISSION FLUID PAN, GASKET AND FILTER .

  13. Power Up the HV  system. Only technicians qualified to EVAP  level are allowed to perform this procedure. It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle Safety Rules.

    Refer to: HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE POWER DOWN/UP .

  14. Use the approved Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) diagnostic tool to calibrate the main control valve body and the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

    General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment
