The Restraints Control Module (RCM) is located under the floor console.

When the ignition is switched on the RCM receives a supply from the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM). The lateral acceleration sensor in the RCM measures yaw rate, roll rate, longitudinal and lateral acceleration providing values to the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module.

If a sensor fault is detected by the ABS control module, a warning message will be displayed in the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center and the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) warning indicator will illuminate.
