New Split Service Messaging Strategy

A new vehicle sub-system comprising of updated hardware and software elements has been developed for some vehicles. This means that based upon driving patterns, mileage and time defined by the market service schedule. The new service message strategy will split service messages in the instrument cluster into three different warning messages depending on the actual service requirements of the vehicle. This separates the oil servicing requirements from inspection and other service item requirements, making it clearer for the customer and retailer.

MESSAGE	SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
Inspection And Service Required Courtesy of JAGUAR LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA, LLC	Vehicle health checks and service items replacement (filters, other fluids, etc.) as per the applicable maintenance schedule with NO engine oil and filter change.

MESSAGE	SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
Full Service Required Courtesy of JAGUAR LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA, LLC	Complete service with engine oil and filter change, vehicle health checks and service items replaced as per the applicable maintenance schedule.

NOTE:

The Vehicle Information menu in the Cluster with the remaining distance and time to service values can be checked by the customer and the technician to anticipate and merge service visits according to the upcoming service requirements and customer preferences.
This strategy starts with the new Evoque Ingenium diesel and continues with other selected Land Rover products using Ingenium diesel engines at 20MY.
At 21MY, all Jaguar Land Rover products using Ingenium diesel engines will have this feature. This strategy will also be included on petrol Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) engines from 23MY onwards.
The service messages in the instrument panel cluster will appear in the relevant language as per the market specific requirements.
For all vehicles with single service messaging strategy, the service due warning is still represented by the spanner icon and the service required message.
