DTC P0600-04: Serial Communication Link - System internal failures: Action
- Prioritized steps to perform:
- Check startup battery charge and condition and record values
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, read all DTCs and investigate any DTCs relating to startup battery voltage supply or vehicle charging system. Rectify as required. Rectify as required
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check for other transmission related DTCs and perform the relevant corrective actions
- Check the security and integrity of the transmission ground point and check the resistance from the transmission ground to the vehicle ground. Rectify as required
- At the transmission harness connector, check the security and integrity of the pins of the IGN, VBATT and ground circuits and rectify as required
- Inspect the transmission connector(s) for signs of water ingress, pin damage and/or corrosion. Rectify as required
- Check the transmission fluid level using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to run the 8-speed ZF - Automatic Transmission Fluid Level Check Application. Refer to the relevant service information and check the automatic transmission fluid quality For additional information, Refer to: TRANSMISSION OIL COLOR CHART If the automatic transmission fluid condition is unsatisfactory, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
- Clear the DTC. Perform a road test of sufficient duration to allow the vehicle to reach normal operating temperature. Recheck DTCs
- If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
