External Controls - Vehicles With: 8P75XPH 8-Speed - PHEV - Automatic Transmission - AWD (G2748442): Operation: Notes

Shifting of the TCS  selector lever to any of the 4 positions is sensed by the TCM  . Signals from the TCS  are passed to the Integrated Power Brake control unit through the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) underbody systems bus. Then the 'Gear Shift Arbitrator (GSA)' software, which is integrated into the Integrated Power Brake control unit software, transmits the signal to the TCM  through the FlexRay. The TCM  then reacts according to the selected position.

The TCS  is a magnetic system using Hall effect sensors to determine the position of the selector. The SPORT (S) position selection allows the TCM  to operate the automatic transmission using the semi-automatic 'Commandshift' system. The 'Commandshift' system is a sequential shift system. Gear selections are sensed by the TCM  .

When the TCS  position is confirmed, the TCM  outputs appropriate information on the FlexRay systems bus to the Body Control Module (BCM)/Gateway Module A (GWM). The information is received by the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module (IPC) to display the gear selection information in the message center.

Movement of the TCS  to any of the 4 positions, or operation of the PARK (P) switch is sensed by the TCS  . The TCM  then reacts according to the new selection request made by the driver.
