DTC P0850-29: Park/Neutral Switch Input Circuit - Signal signal invalid: Action
NOTE:
This DTC may be set following a valid emergency park release operation. Establish if the emergency park release has been used on this vehicle
- Prioritized steps to perform:
- Emergency park release has been used. Clear DTC and retest. If fault does not reoccur then no further action is required
- If the emergency park release has not been used or status is unknown, continue with diagnostics detailed below
- Check startup battery charge and condition and record values
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, read all DTCs and investigate any DTCs relating to startup battery voltage supply. Rectify as required
- If fault persists, check the integrity of the emergency park release mechanism. Rectify as necessary
- Check the integrity of the parklock mechanism. Rectify as necessary
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs
- Start the vehicle and allow to reach normal operating temperature while engaging and disengaging Park with the gear selector several times
- Check the transmission fluid level using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to run the 8-speed ZF - Automatic Transmission Fluid Level Check Application. Refer to the relevant service information and check the automatic transmission fluid quality For additional information, Refer to: TRANSMISSION OIL COLOR CHART If the automatic transmission fluid condition is unsatisfactory, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear DTCs and retest
- If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
