Follow Mode Off

The driver may select 'Follow Mode Off' if it is desired to engage speed without reacting to vehicles ahead. 'Follow Mode Off' may be selected if a blockage is detected which inhibits normal operation. When 'Follow Mode Off' is selected the Adaptive Speed Control Module (ASCM) will not react to vehicles ahead.

'Follow Mode' can be disabled by pressing and holding the gap decrease switch on the steering wheel switchpack. Press the switch until the 'Follow Mode Off' message is displayed. The 'Follow Mode Off" warning indicator is then displayed in the message center.

NOTE: 'Follow Mode ON' is the default setting for adaptive speed control. 'Follow Mode OFF' is automatically cancelled if adaptive speed control is not used for a prolonged period of time. 'Follow Mode OFF' is automatically cancelled if the ignition is switched OFF (Power Mode 6 to Power Mode 4 or 0).

To switch 'Follow Mode ON', briefly press either of the 'Follow Mode' gap increase or decrease switches. The previous gap settings resume and the 'Follow Mode' warning indicator illuminates.
