- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the right deployable side step motor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform routine - Enable Protected Outputs (0x205E). Clear the DTCs and retest
- Check the right deployable side step motor/front hinge assembly for damage or loose fasteners. If the front hinge can be moved by hand, replace the right deployable side step motor/front hinge assembly

Left Power Running Board Position/Motion Sensor - Incorrect has too many pulses |
- 1) Output shaft torque ring slipping
- 2) Deployable side step wedge missing
- 3) Deployable side step motor internal failure
- Incorrect deployable side step assembly installed
|
- If the deployable side step deploys or stows fully, but the motor continues to operate after the board completes the movement:
- Check if the output shaft torque ring is slipping. If the ring is slipping, replace the deployable side step motor assembly as required. Clear DTC and retest
- If the deployable side step motor is operating for 4 seconds then stops but the side step does not move:
- Check the link assembly for a missing or damaged link wedge and install or replace the link wedge as required. Clear DTC and retest
- Check for mechanical faults in the link assembly. If a fault is evident, replace the link assembly as required. Clear DTC and retest
- Check if the output shaft torque ring is slipping. If the ring is slipping, replace the deployable side step motor assembly as required. Clear DTC and retest
