Parking Assist Control Module (PACM)

CAUTION: Diagnosis by substitution from a donor vehicle is NOT  acceptable. Substitution of control modules does not guarantee confirmation of a fault, and may also cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested and/or the donor vehicle.
NOTE:
  • Guided Diagnostics must be followed and the repair advised by the process completed. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of any warranty claim made.
  • If a control module or a component is suspect and the vehicle remains under manufacturer warranty, refer to the Warranty Policy and Procedures information, or determine if any prior approval programme is in operation, prior to the installation of a new module/component.
  • Generic scan tools may not read the codes listed, or may read only 5-digit codes. Match the 5 digits from the scan tool to the first 5 digits of the 7-digit code listed to identify the fault (the last 2 digits give extra information read by the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment).
  • When performing voltage or resistance tests, always use a digital multimeter that has the resolution ability to view 3 decimal places. For example, on the 2 volts range can measure 1 mV or 2 K Ohm range can measure 1 Ohm. When testing resistance always take the resistance of the digital multimeter leads into account.
  • Check and rectify basic faults before beginning diagnostic routines involving pinpoint tests.
  • Inspect connectors for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion.
  • If DTCs are recorded and, after performing the pinpoint tests, a fault is not present, an intermittent concern may be the cause. Always check for loose connections and corroded terminals.
  • Check JLR claims submission system for open campaigns. Refer to the corresponding bulletins and SSMs which may be valid for the specific customer complaint and carry out the recommendations as required.
  • Physical damage to the sensor (impact damage or scratched sensor surface) must NOT be changed under warranty.

The article below lists all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that could be logged in the Parking Assist Control Module (PACM). B129C-08 Left Front Side Sensor - Bus Signal/Message Failures
  • LIN circuit short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance
  • LIN response error
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the LIN circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and retest. If the fault persists install a new front left park assist sensor as required
B129C-16 Left Front Side Sensor - Circuit Voltage Below Threshold
  • Front left park assist sensor power or ground circuit open circuit, high resistance
  • Front left park assist sensor signal circuit short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check datalogger signal - Left Front Side Sensor Failure (0xDD8D)
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and retest
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the snap shot data and read Data Record ID DD8D
    • If the value returned is NOT == 00 then install a new front left park assist sensor
    • If the value returned is == 00 then, refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the front left park assist sensor power and ground circuits for open circuit, high resistance
    • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the front left park assist sensor signal circuit for short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance
B129C-88 Left Front Side Sensor - Bus Off
  • Front left park assist sensor power or ground circuit open circuit, high resistance

B129C-96 Left Front Side Sensor - Component internal failure
  • Front left park assist sensor internal failure
  • Front left park assist sensor power or ground circuit open circuit, high resistance

  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and retest

    • If the value returned is NOT == 00 then install a new front left park assist sensor

B129D-08 Right Front Side Sensor - Bus Signal/Message Failures

B129D-16 Right Front Side Sensor - Circuit Voltage Below Threshold
  • Front right park assist sensor power or ground circuit open circuit, high resistance
  • Front right park assist sensor signal circuit short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and retest
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the snap shot data and read Data Record ID DD83
    • If the value returned is NOT == 00 then install a new front right park assist sensor

B129E-73 Enable/Disable Switch - Semi-automatic Advanced Parallel Park - Actuator stuck closed
  • Park assist switch stuck active
  • Park assist switch signal circuit short circuit to ground
  • Check the operation of the park assist switch. Free the stuck switch or install a new touchscreen switchpack as necessary
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the park assist switch signal circuit for short circuit to ground. Repair the wiring harness or install a new touchscreen switchpack as necessary
B129F-11 Function LED - Semi-automatic Advanced Parallel Park - Circuit short to ground
  • Park assist switch LED circuit short circuit to ground
NOTE: This DTC is not applicable to 19MY onwards. Only applicable to vehicles fitted with switch/LED
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the park assist switch LED circuit for short circuit to ground. Repair the wiring harness or install a new touchscreen switchpack as necessary
B129F-12 Function LED - Semi-automatic Advanced Parallel Park - Circuit short to battery
  • Park assist switch LED circuit short circuit to power
NOTE: This DTC is not applicable to 19MY onwards. Only applicable to vehicles fitted with switch/LED
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the park assist switch LED circuit for short circuit to power. Repair the wiring harness or install a new touchscreen switchpack as necessary
B129F-13 Function LED - Semi-automatic Advanced Parallel Park - Circuit open
  • Park assist switch LED circuit open circuit, high resistance
NOTE: This DTC is not applicable to 19MY onwards. Only applicable to vehicles fitted with switch/LED
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the parking aid switch LED circuit for open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness or install a new touchscreen switchpack as necessary
B143A-12 Proximity Sensor #1 - Circuit Short To Battery
  • Front left door mirror wade sensor signal circuit short circuit to power
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the front left door mirror wade sensor signal circuit for short circuit to power. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and cycle the ignition. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and check the DTC does not set
B143A-14 Proximity Sensor #1 - Circuit Short To Ground Or Open
  • Front left door mirror wade sensor signal circuit short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the front left door mirror wade sensor signal circuit for short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and cycle the ignition. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and check the DTC does not set
B143A-96 Proximity Sensor #1 - Component Internal Failure
  • Front left door mirror wade sensor internal failure
NOTE: If DTC B143A-12 and B143A-14 are also set, repair these faults first
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and cycle the ignition. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and check the DTC does not set. If the fault persists, install a new front left door mirror wade sensor
B143B-12 Proximity Sensor #2 - Circuit Short To Battery
  • Front right door mirror wade sensor signal circuit short circuit to power
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the front right door mirror wade sensor signal circuit for short circuit to power. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and cycle the ignition. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and check the DTC does not set
B143B-14 Proximity Sensor #2 -Circuit Short To Ground Or Open
  • Front right door mirror wade sensor signal circuit short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance
  • Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the front right door mirror wade sensor signal circuit for short circuit to ground, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and cycle the ignition. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and check the DTC does not set
B143B-96 Proximity Sensor #2 - Component Internal Failure
  • Front right door mirror wade sensor internal failure
NOTE: If DTC B143B-12 and B143B-14 are also set, repair these faults first
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and cycle the ignition. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and check the DTC does not set. If the fault persists, install a new front right door mirror wade sensor
B1443-08 Left Rear Side Proximity Sensor - Bus Signal/Message Failures
  • LIN circuit short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance

B1443-16 Left Rear Side Proximity Sensor - Circuit Voltage Below Threshold

B145E-12 Proximity Sensor Supply - Circuit #2 - Circuit Short To Battery

  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform a CAN network integrity test. Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the high speed CAN bus (chassis) circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
U100B-00 Semi-Automatic Parallel Parking System - No sub type information
  • Missing/invalid data from the power steering control module
  • Check local snapshot data contained in DID 0xDD80
  • If DID value is set to 0x02, 0x03, 0x04 use the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to check steering gear for related DTCs and refer to the relevant DTC index
  • If DID value is set to 0x06, review the local snapshot data in DID 0xD020 to determine which signal/message is faulty/missing and use the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to complete a CAN network integrity test
  • Cycle the ignition off, then on, and check if the DTC is still logged
  • Clear the DTC and retest
U2300-54 Central Configuration - Missing calibration
  • Car configuration file mismatch with vehicle specification
NOTE: After updating the car configuration file, set the ignition to on and wait 30 seconds before clearing the DTCs
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check and update the car configuration file as necessary. Clear the DTCs and retest
U2300-55 Central Configuration - Not configured
  • Car configuration file mismatch with vehicle specification

U3000-49 Control Module - Internal electronic failure
  • Parking assist control module internal failure
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and retest. If the fault persists, install a new parking assist control module
U3000-55 Control Module - Not configured
  • Parking assist control module is not configured correctly
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, reconfigure the parking assist control module with the latest level software, clear the DTCs and retest. If the fault persists, install a new parking assist control module
U3000-56 Control Module - Invalid/incomplete configuration
  • Parking assist control module is not configured correctly
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, reconfigure the parking assist control module with the latest level software, clear the DTCs and retest. If the fault persists, install a new parking assist control module
U3000-63 Control Module - Circuit/component protection time-out
  • Parking assist control module internal circuit protection routine has deactivated the module following detection of repeated parking aid sensor short circuit faults
NOTE: This DTC is only logged if the control module has detected persistent parking aid sensor short circuit faults. Ensure that all circuit faults have been resolved before proceeding with the reset short protection routine
  • Check for related parking aid/park assist sensor circuit fault DTCs and ensure all parking aid/park assist sensor faults are resolved
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the DTCs and perform routine - Reset/Clear Specified Function (Reset Short Protection) (0x040E) - to re-enable the parking assist control module output circuits
