U0404-82: Invalid Data Received from Gear Shift Control Module A - Alive/sequence counter incorrect/not updated: Action

Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, complete a CAN network integrity test. Refer to applicable SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM(S) and check CAN circuits if required. Repair harness as required
Check engine control module for additional DTCs and refer to relevant DTC index. Rectify these first
Check transmission control switch for related DTCs and refer to relevant DTC index
Refer to the applicable SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM(S) and check the power and ground connections to the transmission control switch
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system clear all stored DTCs using the `Diagnosis Menu' tab and retest
