- Check engine control module for related DTCs and refer to relevant DTC index
- Check that the brake pedal switch is mounted and correctly positioned on the mounting bracket/pedal box
- Check for smooth operation of the brake pedal switch plunger
- Refer to the applicable SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM(S) and check brake pedal switch 1 circuit for open circuit, short circuit to power, short circuit to ground
- Refer to the applicable SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM(S) and check brake pedal switch 2 circuit for open circuit, short circuit to power, short circuit to ground
