Upon diagnosis of a customer report, carry out the following steps:
- Check that the I-pod/I-phone and cable is not at fault by substituting the cable and I-pod/I-phone if equipment is available.
- Check the I-pod/I-phone socket and connections are not at fault.
- Check that the connections to the Audio Control Module are fully latched and there are no backed out pins.
- If any of the above are found to be at fault, rectify as necessary, then retest for symptoms.
- Only replace the Audio Control Module if symptoms persist.
