CONDITION SUMMARY

SITUATION: 

'Walkaway lock' and 'Approach unlocking' options unavailable for customer to select.

CAUSE: 

Software issue within the Remote Function Actuator (RFA).

ACTION: 

Follow the Diagnostic Procedure below.

  • The JLR claims submission system requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

  1. Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and the JLR approved battery support unit.

    General Equipment:  Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.

  2. The latest version of Diagnostic Device Agent 2. must be installed.
  3. Launch Diagnostic Device Agent, and log in.
  4. Within 'OPTION SELECTION', select 'Browse all'.
  5. Select 'Diagnostics'.
  6. Within APPLICATIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING', select 'Vehicle'
  7. NOTE: Only complete this step if the vehicle is in transit mode.

    Run the 'Transit Mode' application and disable transit mode.

  8. Within 'APPLICATIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING', select 'Module Programing'
  9. Run the RFA  - Software - Update 9. Module application.
  10. Within 'APPLICATIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING', select 'Vehicle'
  11. Run the select Car Configuration File (CCF) application.
  12. Check that the 'Walkaway lock' and 'Approach unlocking' options are now available within the PIVI screen.
    • On the vehicle touchscreen select:
      • Settings
      • Vehicle
      • Safety and security
    • If the 'Walkaway lock' and/or 'Approach unlocking'  options are NOT  available raise a Technical Assistance (TA)  request stating the bulletin number JLRTB02129NAS. 
    • If the 'Walkaway lock' and 'Approach unlocking'  options ARE  available continue to the step 13. 
  13. NOTE: If required.

    Run the 'Transit Mode' application and enable transit mode.

  14. Follow all on-screen instructions to 14. complete the task.
  15. When all of the tasks are complete, exit the session.
  16. Disconnect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and the JLR approved battery support unit.
