DTC C0040-64: Brake Pedal Switch "A" - Signal plausibility failure: Action

Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check brake pedal switch circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair circuit as required. Clear DTC and retest
Check and adjust brake pedal switch as required, refer to the relevant service information
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system check and install latest relevant level of software to the ABS control module. Clear DTC and retest
If fault persists, check and install a new brake pedal switch as required
