Fuel System Pressure Check

NOTE:
This procedure only checks the supply pressure to the high pressure pump.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Specifications .
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel .
- Remove the fuel rail Schraeder valve cap.
- Install the special tool to the fuel rail Schraeder valve.
- Start and run the engine.
- Open the valve on the special tool.
- Note the fuel pressure readings.
- For fuel pressure data, refer to specifications in ENGINE (V8 5.0L PETROL) or ENGINE (V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL) .
- Close the special tool valve.
- Disconnect the special tool from the Schraeder valve.
- Install the Schraeder valve cap.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Specifications .
