SITUATION
NEW TRANSFER GEARBOX ECU PROMPTS CODE
When installing a new ECU into a vehicle build after VIN 3A136630, fault code "21232 - Motor Direction Error" may be stored. This is the result of a software error that prompts the code.
RESOLUTION
UTILIZE TESTBOOK/T4 TO CLEAR THE CODE
If fault code 21232 'Motor Direction Error' is stored when installing a new transfer gearbox ECU, clear the code. Select 'Fault Code Diagnostics' while TestBook/T4 is still connected and follow the on-screen instructions to clear the fault code.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL ECU AND CORRECT FAULT CODE
- Refer to RAVE section 41.30.01 and follow the procedure for replacement of the ECU, including TestBook/T4 connection.
- When physical installation is completed and all routine TestBook steps are finalized, select 'Fault Code Diagnostics' while TestBook/T4 is still connected.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to clear fault code 21232.
