SITUATION:

POSSIBLE INCORRECTLY TORQUED SENSOR FASTENERS

Early editions of the RAVE Workshop Manual for 2003 Range Rover contained an incorrect torque specification for the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) side impact sensors. During the period that the incorrect information was published repairs involving side impact sensors may have been performed with incorrect torque applied to the sensor fasteners.

RESOLUTION:

VERIFY PROPER TORQUE ON SRS SIDE IMPACT SENSORS

At the next service opportunity perform the corrective action outlined in this bulletin to verify and ensure that the proper torque value has been applied to the SRS sensor on the affected vehicles.

PARTS INFORMATION:

No Parts Required

WARRANTY CLAIMS:

  1. Refer to RAVE Workshop Manual General Information "Electrical Precautions, Battery Disconnection" and "Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions" and perform the following:
    • Switch off the ignition and wait two minutes to ensure NAV computer settings are preserved.
