Gear Position Switch: Installation

  1. Ensure Park is selected by rotating selector shaft fully clockwise. Engage Neutral by rotating selector shaft counterclockwise by 2 detents. Connect breather hose to switch. Connect connector to vehicle harness. Secure to bracket. Engage switch on selector shaft. Install nut and bolt. Do not tighten.
  2. Install Gear Position Switch Setting Tool (LRT-44-011) to shaft. See Figure . Insert setting terminal into tool. Rotate gear position switch until setting terminal engages with hole in switch as shown. Tighten nut and bolt. Remove Gear Position Switch Setting Tool (LRT-44-011). Install gear selector lever to shaft. Secure with nut. Lower vehicle.
