Cruise Control Switches

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Land Rover Range Rover, 2000 Land Rover Discovery, 1999 Land Rover Range Rover, and 1999 Land Rover Discovery. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Cruise control master on/off switch is located in the instrument panel, and is used to turn cruise control system on or off. SET+ switch is located on the steering wheel and allows driver to set vehicle cruising speed or to accelerate. RES switch is mounted on the steering wheel and allows driver to resume cancelled speed or to decelerate vehicle speed.

On Range Rover, when SET+ switch is pressed, it supplies a ground signal to converter/inverter module. The ground signal is converted to a voltage signal and sent to cruise control ECU, which activates the vacuum pump. When the SET+ switch is released, the voltage signal is removed, signaling the cruise control ECU to set current vehicle speed.
