Automatic Transmission: Notes

The automatic transmission consists of a torque converter housing, an intermediate plate, a automatic transmission housing and a rear extension housing, bolted together in series. See Fig 1. The rear of the automatic transmission is supported by a rubber mounting installed between a mounting bracket on the automatic transmission and the left chassis rail. See Fig 2. A heat shield is installed on the mounting to protect it from the exhaust.
