Steering Wheel Lock-To-Lock Adjustment (Range Rover)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. See JACKING & HOISTING . Loosen left side steering stop bolt lock nut. Turn stop bolt clockwise, fully into hub. Start engine and allow it to idle. Turn steering wheel right to full lock position until resistance is felt and hold (resistance is created by hydraulic limiter inside steering box).
  2. Turn stop bolt counterclockwise until it contacts axle. Turn stop bolt clockwise 3 flats (about one-half turn) and tighten lock nut. Center steering wheel. Turn steering wheel right to full lock position. Resistance should be felt just before axle contacts steering stop bolt. Repeat procedure for right side steering stop bolt. When completed, ensure resistance is felt just before axle contacts steering stop bolt. Ensure number of turns required to turn steering wheel from lock-to-lock is within specification. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS .
