Steering Lock-To-Lock Adjustment (Discovery)

  1. Measure steering stop bolt adjustment from top of stop bolt to surface of hub on lock nut side. See Fig 1. Measurement should be 1.59" (40.5 mm). If measurement is not as specified, loosen steering stop bolt lock nut and turn stop bolt as necessary. Tighten stop bolt lock nut.
  2. Check clearance between inside of tire and radius arm. Turn steering wheel left and right to full lock position. Measure clearance between inside of tire and radius arm with steering at full lock position. See Figure. If clearance on either side is less than 0.79" (20 mm), loosen steering stop bolt lock nut. Turn steering stop bolt until clearance is as specified. Tighten steering stop bolt lock nut. Ensure number of turns required to turn steering wheel from lock-to-lock is within specification.
