Steering Column: Removal

  1. Remove the steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL  .
  2. Remove the lower dash panel and unclip the lower trim pad from the driver's side.
  3. Disconnect the electrical multi-plugs from the steering column switches and release the electrical wiring from the retaining clip located halfway down the steering column. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove the steering column shroud fixings and maneuver the shroud off the column switches.
  5. Remove the top pinch bolt, universal joint-to-steering column.
  6. Remove the steering column-to-floor board fixings.
  7. Remove the steering column-to-dash bracket fixings.
  8. Remove the steering column assembly.
