Directional Stability

  1. If directional stability is a concern when vehicle is towing, check towing/vehicle loading parameters in Owner's Handbook. Go to next step. If it is not a concern, go to step  3 .
  2. If the problem is resolved, procedure is complete. If the problem is not resolved, go to next step.
  3. Check condition of rear trailing link/chassis bushings. Install STC 618 axle set if replacing bushings.
  4. If the problem is resolved, procedure is complete. If the problem is not resolved, go to next step.
  5. Check condition of front and rear shock absorbers. Replace as necessary in pairs, side to side.
  6. If the problem is resolved, procedure is complete. If the problem is not resolved, go to next step.
  7. Check steering damper operation. See STEERING DAMPER  under COMPONENT TESTS.
  8. If the problem is resolved, procedure is complete. If the problem is not resolved, go to next step.
  9. Check wheel balance.
  10. If problem is resolved, procedure is complete. If problem is not resolved, contact local technical office.
