Oil Pan: Installation

  1. Remove any traces of previous sealant from oil pan and cylinder block joint faces.
  2. Apply a 2.0 mm (0.08") wide bead of Hylosil (102) to joint face of oil pan as shown in Fig 1.
  3. Place oil pan in position, fit oil pan bolts and evenly tighten front bolts to 10 Nm (89 INCH lbs.) and rear bolts 19 N.m (14 ft. lbs.).
  4. Allow vehicle to stand for a period of 30 minutes to ensure that Hylosil is cured. Failure to do so could possibly result in repeating oil pan fitting operation.
