Repair Procedures: Removal

Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
Remove the starter mounting upper bolt (A).
Starter mounting upper bolt:

49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb.ft)

Lift the vehicle.
Remove the harness bracket mounting bolt (A).
Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector (B) and starter "ST" connector (C).
Disconnect the starter "B" terminal cable after loosening the tightening nut (D).
Tightening torque:

9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

Remove the starter mounting lower bolt (A).
Starter mounting lower bolt:

49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb.ft)
