SERVICE INFORMATION
This bulletin provides information regarding a 12V battery parasitic draw concern on certain 2024MY Carnival (KA4) vehicles produced from August 28, 2023 through September 7, 2023. In these vehicles, the battery may discharge slowly over time while the vehicle is parked, potentially resulting in a no-start condition due to the power seat module (PSM)/integrated memory seat (IMS) unit, which was assembled with an incorrect internal ceramic capacitor by the supplier. Follow the procedure outlined in this publication to replace the IMS/PSM on the applicable vehicle. Before conducting the procedure, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.
NOTE:
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the warranty period will require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on KDealer+ (Service → Warranty Coverage → Warranty Coverage Inquiry → Campaign Information). Not completed Recall/Service Action reports are available on KDealer+ (Consumer Affairs → Not Completed Recall → Recall VIN → Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.
This issue number is SA555 .

REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Replace the PSM/IMS unit (A) by referring to "Body Electrical System → Integrated Memory Seat (IMS) → IMS Unit → Removal and Installation" in the applicable Shop Manual on KGIS.NOTE: The PSM/IMS is located under the drivers seat. Adjust the bottom seat and slide to the farthest rear position for access.
After replacing the PSM/IMS unit:
- Using KDS, perform the 'Seat Limit Position Setting'
to complete the repair.NOTE: The 2nd row seat (behind driver's seat) must be positioned in the farthest rear position possible prior to performing the "Seat Limit Position Setting" as the front driver seat would perform the motor operation in wide range.
- Confirm normal operation of the vehicle.
