On Vehicle Inspection

  1. The charging system can be more quickly diagnosed for problems with the KDS (Refer to "DTC guide").
    1. Self Diagnosis: Inspect the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) with the KDS

      (Refer to DTC guide when fault code is found) 

    2. Data analysis: Checking the system input/output data state

      Information 

      Refer to the KDS screen for operating conditions and details.

  2. Check the continuity of the fuse (A).

    Alternator fuse

    Battery fuse

  3. Check the battery terminal for corrosion and connection.
    NOTE:
    • Check the alternator B+ terminal condition.
    • Check the alternator B+ terminal tightening nut.
    • Check the battery positive (+), negative (-) terminal condition.
    • Check the battery positive (+), negative (-) terminal tightening nut.
    • Check the ground cable on the body tightening bolt.
    • Check the engine room & relay box positive (+) cable condition.
    • Check the engine room & relay box negative (-) cable tightening nut.
    • Check the ground connection condition.

  4. Check the connector connection, contact defect, bending, corrosion, deformation or damage.
  5. Check the condition of engine ground cable (A) and tight to specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  6. Check the condition of transaxle ground cable (A) and tight to specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 

    26.5 - 32.4 N.m (2.7 - 3.3 kgf.m, 19.5 - 23.9 lb.ft)

  7. Inspect the drive belt.

    NOTE: Replace the belt when the belt cracks and damages.
