Description & Operation: Description
- Camshaft Position Sensor (CMPS) is a hall sensor, which detects the camshaft position by using a hall element.
- It is synchronized with Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) and detects the piston position of each cylinder which cannot be detected by the CKPS.
- The two CMPS are installed on engine head cover of intake, exhaust side respectively and use a target wheel installed on the camshaft.
- The ECM can accurately detect the position of each cylinder using the camshaft position sensor signal, and control the independent sequential fuel injection of each cylinder.
