Shift Cable: Removal
WARNING:
- When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
- When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION ". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
- When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) and HIGH VOLTAGE SHUT-OFF PROCEDURES .
- Place the shift lever in the 'N' position.NOTE: Use the wheel chocks to prevent vehicle from moving accidentally.
- Shut off the high voltage circuit.

- Drain the hybrid motor cooling system coolant.
(Refer to Hybrid Motor System - "COOLANT ")
- Remove the Hybrid Power Control Unit (HPCU) assembly and tray.
(Refer to Hybrid Control System - "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ")
- Remove the shift cable by removing the nut (A).
- Remove the shift cable (A) from the bracket (B).
- Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the crash pad and heater blower unit assembly.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - "CRASH PAD (PHEV) and HEATER UNIT ")
- Remove the air duct (A).
- Remove the snap pin (A).
- Remove the shift cable (A) from the shift lever.
- Remove the shift cable retainer (A) after removing the nuts. Then, remove the shift cable by pulling it toward the vehicle interior.
