Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal and the service interlock connector.
    1. Remove the upper battery cover (A) by rotating valve in the direction of the arrow.

    2. Disconnect the auxiliary 12 V negative (-) battery terminal (A) after loosening the nut.

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

    3. Remove the engine room junction box cover (A).

    4. Disconnect the service interlock connector (A).
      WARNING: Wait more than 3 minutes for capacitor in the inverter to be discharged completely after disconnecting the high voltage service interlock connector.

  2. Remove the MDPS column and housing.

    (Refer to Motor Driven Power Steering -  "MDPS COLUMN AND HOUSING ")

  3. Remove the MDPS power pack assembly (A) after removing the screws.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  4. Disconnect the MDPS power pack assembly connector (A).
