Removal And Installation: Removal
- Align the steering wheel straight.
- Turn the IG OFF, separate the auxiliary battery (12 V) (-) terminal, and disconnect the high voltage service interlock connector.
- Separate the auxiliary battery (12 V) (-) terminal (A) after removing the nut.
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)
- Remove the PE room junction box cover (A).
- Disconnect the high voltage service interlock connector (A).
WARNING:- Wait more than 5 minutes for capacitor of the high voltage battery system to be discharged completely.
- Do not close the PE room junction box cover as the high voltage service interlock connector may be connected.
- Separate the auxiliary battery (12 V) (-) terminal (A) after removing the nut.
- Remove the driver airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - " DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")
- Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).
- Remove the steering wheel (A) after removing the bolt.
Tightening torque:
39.2 - 49.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.2 lb.ft)
NOTE:- Do not use a hammer when removing steering wheel, the steering column may be damaged if using a hammer.
- Do not reuse the steering wheel bolt.
- Mark the 3 points (A) at the steering wheel and column shaft installation point.
