PIN code is programmed in SMK, VCU
Smart Key VCU Learning
* All Learning procedure is able to do with a KDS in the vehicle's ignition key off state.
- If the SMK is not registered with PIN, key teaching process is not proceeded.
- Registering PIN is available after SMK is neutralized.
- Neutralization of VCU is available with KDS (Registering PIN code).
- If the virgin VCU is installed on vehicle, VCU is automatically programmed PIN code by SMK.
- Registering PIN code is only possible for virgin or neutralized status.
Smart Key VCU Learning
* All Learning procedure is able to do with a KDS in the vehicle's ignition key off state.
- Correct PIN Code must be recorded and kept in hand prior to perform "Smart Key Code Saving".
- In case of SMK is replaced, "Smart Key Code Saving" must be performed.
- In case wrong PIN signal is inputted 3 times, "Neutralization Mode or Teaching" is prohibited for 1 hour.
- In case Auxiliary battery is discharged during process of "Neutralization Mode or Teaching", timer will restart and wait for 1 hour to re-do.

Good
- Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of auxiliary battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
- Repair or replace as necessary and Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
No Good
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- If problem still occurs, replace SMK and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
