Disassembly & Reassembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove the drive belt pulley (A) after removing the bolt.

  2. Remove the Overrunning Alternator Pulley (OAP) cap (A).

  3. Remove the pulley (A) by using the SST (09373 - 27000).

    Tightening torque: 

    75.5 - 81.4 N.m (7.7 - 8.3 kgf.m, 55.7 - 60.0 lb.ft)

  4. Remove the rear cover (A) after removing the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    3.04 - 4.41 N.m (0.31 - 0.45 kgf.m, 2.24 - 3.25 lb.ft, 26.9 - 39.1 lb.in)

  5. Remove the brush & regulator assembly (A) after removing the mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    4.02 - 4.41 N.m (0.41 - 0.45 kgf.m, 2.97 - 3.25 lb.ft, 35.6 - 39.1 lb.in)

  6. Dissolve the stator leads (A) by using the solder.

  7. Remove the front bracket (A) after removing the mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    4.51 - 5.49 N.m (0.46 - 0.56 kgf.m, 3.33 - 4.05 lb.ft, 40.0 - 48.6 lb.in)

  8. Remove the rotor assembly (A).

  9. Remove the stator (A) from the rear bracket assembly.
