Repair Procedures: Removal
- Align the front wheels facing straight ahead by turning steering wheel.NOTE: If the steering wheel and the front tires does not synchronize to their centers together, open circuit on the clock spring cable may occur due to excessive steering wheel turning.
- Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")
- Remove the driver airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")
- Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).
- Remove the steering wheel (A) after removing the lock bolt.
Tightening torque:
44.1 - 49.0 N.m (4.5 - 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 36.2 lb.ft)
NOTE:- Do not use the hammer for disconnecting on the steering column not to damage the steering column.
- Do not reuse the bolt.
