Repair Procedures: Removal

Low Pressure Fuel Line [Low Pressure Delivery Pipe ↔ Fuel Tank] 

1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.

   (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")

2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

   (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

3. Remove the engine cover.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")

4. Open the clamp cover and disconnect the fuel feed tube (A).

   NOTE:

   • When removing the quick-connector with the clip removing tool, be careful not to damage the plastic clip (A).

   • Damaged clip can result in fuel line leakage due to bad connection.
   • There may be some residual pressure even after completing "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line", so cover the hose connection with a shop towel to prevent residual fuel from spilling out before disconnecting any fuel connection.
5. Separate the fuel feed hose (A) by removing the fixing clip.

6. Separate the ventilation hose (A).

7. Remove the engine room under cover.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

8. Remove the rear engine room under cover (A) by removing the nuts and bolts.

   Tightening torque: 

   7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

9. Remove the fuel tank.

   (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "FUEL TANK ")

10. Remove the fuel line (A) from the vehicle after removing the fixing clips.

High Pressure Fuel Pipe [High Pressure Fuel Pump ↔ High Pressure Delivery Pipe] 

1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.

   (Refer to the Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")

2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

   (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

3. Remove the air cleaner.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

4. Remove the engine cover (A).

5. Remove the high pressure fuel pump foam (A).

6. Loosen the high pressure fuel pipe flange nut (A).

   Tightening torque: 

   32.4 - 35.3 N.m (3.3 - 3.6 kgf.m, 23.9 - 26.0 lb.ft)

7. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe after removing the flange nut (A).

   Tightening torque: 

   32.4 - 35.3 N.m (3.3 - 3.6 kgf.m, 23.9 - 26.0 lb.ft)

8. Disconnect the extension connector (A).

9. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe (A) after removing function block mounting bolt.

   Tightening torque: 

   9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
