DTC B1603-00: CAN Bus OFF (B-CAN): General Description

The main features of CAN (Controller Area Network) bus system are:

• Signals are broadcast in both directions.
• The Multi-master principle.
• High availability by locating failed control units.
• Standardization in accordance with ISO 11898.

Vehicle electronically control need many informations of each module to increase convenience/safety by optimum control.

The control module can either receive data from the each module by using CAN communication. The CAN communication is one of the vehicle communications method, which is now widely used to transfer the vehicle data.

The MFSW (Multi-Function Switch) transmits the wiper & washer switch signal and the Lamps (Tail Light, Headlamp, Fog light, signal light and etc.) switch signal to the CAN communication and controls the wiper and the headlamp failsafe function and the washer motor.
