DTC P1676-81: Immobilizer Smartra Message Error: General Description

The VCU and the SMK communicate when the EV mode "ON". is started to confirm that the proper key is in the vehicle. The SMK and VCU compare the PIN before the a signal is sent to allow the engine to start. If the PIN do not match, engine start is unavailable.

In case of SMK immobilizer function is locked, the SMK does not carry out a start signal and the VCU enters in to locked state, which causes deactivation of the engine impossible.

In case of SMK immobilizer function state is released, the SMK will carry out start signal along with SMK learnt mode and PIN code.
