Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION: Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

Information 

  1. Remove the front pillar trim.

    (Refer to Interior Trim - "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")

  2. Remove the crash pad center panel.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD CENTER PANEL ")

  3. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  4. Remove the Multifunction Switch.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")

  5. Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "STEERING COLUMN SHROUD PANEL ")

  6. Remove the instrument cluster.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ")

  7. Remove the audio/AVN head unit.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "AUDIO/AVN HEAD UNIT ")

  8. Remove the center speaker.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "SPEAKER ")

  9. Remove the Head Up Display(HUD) Unit.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD UP DISPLAY (HUD) UNIT ")

  10. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the crash pad switch assembly (A).

  11. Disconnect the connector (A).

  12. Remove the main crash pad upper garnish.
    1. Loosen the screws (A) from the main crash pad upper garnish.

    2. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the main crash pad upper garnish (A).

    Information 

    Removal sequence: (1)→ (2)→ (3)→(4)

  13. Loosen the mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  14. Loosen the mounting bolts, nuts and screws, remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  15. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connector (A).

  16. To install, reverse removal procedure.
